Jay Sioux works across disciplines of Abstract Painting, Photography, Movement and Poetry. Her work is highly organic and intuitive, and is created in response to inner seeing, feeling and impulse. Integral to her sense of being, is empowering a process of empathic connection, expression and surrender. Her personal journey in life, which is inseparable to creativity, teaches her to perpetually yield and let go, having experienced chronic pain for over 18 years. Jay has a special interest in using the camera to spontaneously photograph herself to excavate aspects of the psyche, with a particular focus on woman-hood, connection/dis-connection and her ever evolving relationship to spirituality, trauma, illness and nature.
